1. 2012 Hair Trends

    May 16, 2012 by Lori's Wigsite

“For fashioners in 2012, hair is all about revivals and evolution” (Source). This year’s hair trends are in line with this year’s clothing styles of choice. Men and women’s hairstyle trends continually change over the years. For men – styles evolve slower and generally women’s change more frequently. According to FASHIONISING.com 2012 men’s key hair cuts & hairstyles are:

    • Slicked back undercut
    • Brit-rock indie hairstyle
    • Rockability hairstyle
    • Men’s quiff

Women’s trends are easily sorted by length of hair (long, mid-length & short). Styles ranging from long and bouncy to the “side part” to the piled up and pinned hairstyle are all in this year’s popular styles.   For all lengths the long, blunt, and bed-hairishly messy bangs are coming back. Louis Ferre’s PC108 is a 100% Hand-Tied wig that can be cut and styled to your desired length, possibly with this year’s popular fringe bangs.

Lori’s Wigsite offers name brand wigs in a variety of colors, all of which can be styled to your taste.  For example, Jon Renau’s “Heat” is part of the Heat Defiant (HD) Collection.  This allows you to curl, crimp and flat iron up to 350 degrees without the fear of burning.

With our help you can change your style in a matter of minutes.  Wig Out with Lori this Summer!

  2. Wig Out with the Relay For Life

    May 4, 2012 by Lori's Wigsite

It’s that time of the year to show your support for Relay For Life.

Across the globe people are expressing their support through a number of activities, whether that is joining on a team, donating their time and/or money or just remembering those you have and are battling with cancer.

If you have not been a witness to a Relay For Life event it will change your life.  At the evening of the event when the sun sets, bags with candles (called: luminaria) are lit and line the track.  “Relay For Life participants, survivors and caregivers then gather together for the Luminaria Ceremony to remember loved ones lost to cancer and to honor those who have battled the disease” (Source). To participant in an event by volunteering or just being present please visit http://www.relayforlife.org .

  3. Wig Care ~ We Care

    April 26, 2012 by Lori's Wigsite

Caring for your wig properly can extend the life of your product.  Appropriately washing, storing and styling your wig are all equally important.  A wig is a specialty hair product that needs regular attention that is relatively easy and maintenance time will vary depending on items, such as wig type and wig length.  For instance, washing your 100% Human Hair is recommended “every 2-3 weeks unless needed more often,” according to Lori’s Wigsite.  For additional information on Human Hair Care please visit Human Hair Wig Care for washing and care instructions.

Secondly, storing your wig on a wire or plastic wig stand will allow air to pass thru the wig (note: this is also a good place to let your wig air dry after being washed).

Lastly, we suggest regular grooming of your wig to its desired style.  Tools you will need: wig brush, “Styling Holder with Suction Base,” and any recommended products & accessories, such as mousse or It’s a Ten (Leave-In Conditioner).

These three steps and tips (washing, storing and style) should increase the life of your current and/or future wig.  Keep your wig looking like new!

  4. Bald Barbie for Cancer

    April 5, 2012 by Lori's Wigsite

News is spreading about the possibility for a bald Barbie doll to be produced in support of Cancer Awareness.  It all started with Jane Bingham, according to USA Today she says “she won’t rest until Barbie’s new pal, a bald doll with head coverings, is available in stores” (Source).

Recently a California based toy company announced they would produce a bald Barbie that would come with wigs, hats, scarves, etc. “to provide girls with a traditional fashion play experience” Mattel spokesman Alan Hilowitz said (Source).

The doll is expected to be distributed through a number of hospitals that treat children with cancer, in addition to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation.   Not only will a doll like this spread awareness, but it gives hope that one person (Jane Bingham) can fight for her dreams and make them come true.

Stays tuned for more news on the Bald Barbie!

  5. Getting Ready in the Morning

    March 16, 2012 by Lori's Wigsite

Every morning we go into the bathroom to get ready for the morning, but exactly how long do we take? According to an article by Marie Claire Magazine “…women spend nearly three years getting ready to leave the house.” Between picking out an outfit, showering, drying & styling hair the time adds up!

Our hair plays a big role in our morning regime. We may wash it, dry it, and even straighten or curl it – however we choose to style our hair, time passes. We have a vision of what we want to look like when we step outside the door in the morning whether we saw the style on a celebrity in a magazine or television statistics prove that we take the TIME to get a result.

Think you are utilizing your time efficiently in the morning? Save time and money by purchasing a wig or hairpiece. Instead of spending hours and hours styling your hair overtime, have the comfort of knowing your wig or hairpiece is ready to wear whenever you need it. Another benefit is wigs come in all different colors. No more worries about damaging your natural hair with abrasive dyes. Just pick out the type of wig, color and we ship it to you.

Visit Lori’s Wigsite today and stay up to date with our latest sales and specials via Facebook & Twitter.
