1. Remembering September 11th

    September 11, 2013 by Lori's Wigsite

    To Our Readers,

We would like to take this opportunity to remember and honor our heroes, the victims, the survivors and their families that were affected by the September 11th attacks.

Today marks the 12th Anniversary of a day that we will never forget.  Across the nation we come together to support, grieve and remember those lost in the terrorist attacks.

A memorable quote by Rudolph W. Giuliani on December 31, 2001 stated, “The attacks of September 11th were intended to break our spirit. Instead we have emerged stronger and more unified. We feel renewed devotion to the principles of political, economic and religious freedom, the rule of law and respect for human life. We are more determined than ever to live our lives in freedom” (Source).

With that said, continue to live your life with a more positive outlook towards life and commit yourself to express your feelings to those around you. As a nation our society is fast paced and it is so easy to lose track…of yourself and your relationships.

Remember to not only take a moment of silence today to remember the victims and how 8:46am changed the world, but to remember the importance of our freedom every day.

“WE WILL NOT TIRE WE WILL NOT FALTER AND WE WILL NOT FAIL” – President, George W. Bush.

    Thank you.

  3. Cancer Awareness 2013

    April 1, 2013 by Lori's Wigsite

The race is on! Teams for the Relay for Life are in full swing this time of the year raising money and awareness for the fight against cancer. It is an amazing event that was started in 1985 and since then has raised over $4 billion dollars (source).

This month has been declared, “National Cancer Control Month” by the President of the United States (source).  Stated in his proclamation,”Each of us can reduce our risk of developing cancer by maintaining a healthy weight, exercising regularly, limiting alcohol intake and sun exposure, and living tobacco-free.”

With cancer many find themselves facing hair loss.  Hair loss can not only be physically stressful but emotionally as well. A mayo clinic staff member stated in an article, “You might not think about how important your hair is until you face losing it.”  That is completely true. Although hair is just “hair”, every day we wake up, wash it, dry it, style it, comb it, etc.  We pay hair dressers throughout the year to cut/trim it so all of sudden facing hair loss can be a dramatic experience.

Lori’s Wigsite has a variety of wigs and hairpieces for men, women and children in all different colors. We even offer a free service to help you select the right color by matching your hair sample to the closest available wig/hairpiece color.  For details on sending a hair sample.

As always if you have any questions or need help finding a wig/hairpiece we have a wonderful staff waiting to hear from you!

    Have a great April everyone.

  10. Hair Controversy at 2012 Olympics

    August 2, 2012 by Lori's Wigsite

News is traveling the social media scene regarding the 16 year old USA gold medalist, Gabby Douglas, hair!  The Huffington Post recently wrote an article about the controversy.  The article states, “The debate over black hair has clearly reached its pinnacle.”  We all know everyone has different textured hair, straight, curly, wavy, and the list goes on.  “Gymnasts are not required to adopt any specific hairstyle or hair length. However, they must keep long hair tied back in some sort of fashion, be in a ponytail, or a braid” (Source).  Olympic athletes, gymnasts especially can’t afford to have any distractions during their routines.  Regardless of how Gabby Douglas does her hair we are proud of the USA team for capturing another Gold!
